Ranch Tonneau Cover

Just want to get away from the Bakflip for a minute and bring you another option in the
Ranch Tonneau Cover which puts out a couple of Fiberglass tonneau covers called the Ranch Legacy Tonneau Cover and the Ranch Sportwrap Tonneau Cover. These two covers come with pretty the same features except the Legacy comes with raised lines for an added look for those that like the lines.

Although Fiberglass tonneau covers are amongst the most expensive truck bed covers they last a long time, they look great as they are painted according to the customers factory paint code. They are the best at keeping water out of your cargo area and they provide the bests security for your cargo. Your mind is more at ease when you have to leave your truck with valuable tools and other cargo under the tonneau.

As you can see this Ranch Tonneau Cover looks great painted up to match the truck.

This Ranch Tonneau Cover also looks great painted up to match the pickup truck.

Both of these fiberglass covers come with optional charcoal headliners as well as a keyless entry system and lights plus you can even get it with a Led wing shown below.

Some other features include a rotary latch locking system, a triple sealing system to keep the water out and lift assist arms to allow easy opening and closing of the tonneau. You can find out more and get prices for your truck by visiting Ranch Tonneau Cover.

Bakflip G2

The Bakflip G2 is a very popular hard folding tonneau cover that gives a pickup truck owner everything they need in a tonneau cover. Unlike its competition the covered folds all the way to the back of the cab giving you total use of your truck bed. You can secure the cover there with the rods provided and drive with it open.

The security factor for the G2 is very good as you need to open the tailgate and pull the release latch from either side of the tonneau in order to open it. If you add an aftermarket tailgate lock the security for your cargo will be excellent. You can even get some of these tailgate locks that will open with your remote.

The G2 Bakflip by Bak is a very low profile which is found to be very sought after for both its looks and its user friendly traits as well as its fine quality.

You can read more about this hard folding tonneau cover by visiting Bakflip G2.

Bakflip HD Tonneau Cover

Let me give you a little information on the Bakflip HD. First of all the HD stands for heavy duty. Thats exactly how this truck cover compares to the Bakflip G2. The G2 panels are a half inch thick and the HD is 5/8 thick. That means there is more EPS giving the panels more strength.
The frames the panels sit in are made from aircraft grade aluminum. The panels are also made of aluminum and although it is heavy duty it is still light to use. It has all the features of the Bakflip G2. Each panel locks down as you unfold it and the panels fold all the way up to the rear window if you choose. You can drive with it fully opened. The panels easily secure with rods when up to the rear window.
The black powder coating that the cover is finished with is one of the stongest finishes available.

Bakflip F1

The Bakflip F1 Tonneau Cover is the folding tonneau cover you should look at if you may be a tad bit hard on your truck cover or if you live in an area where you are subject to a lot of heavy hail, ice and snow. This cover is made tough and is built for exactly that purpose. Mind you if you are easy on your cover and you live in a warm climate you are just getting a great tough design.
This cover is constructed of a fiberglass reinforced polymer top which is ding resistant. It also stays cool to the touch as where the other covers will get much warmer in the hot sun. The aluminum underside together with the higher density EPS core keeps the cover rigid enough to withstand 400lbs of weight evenly distributed on top of it.
As far as installation goes, it won't get any easier than this. Install it in minutes. Take it off in seconds if for some crazy reason you need to. Bak says this is the most advanced tonneau cover yet

Bakflip Tonneau Cover - Different Models and the Difference Between Them

Just a little more information on the Bakflip Tonneau Cover. This cover not only comes in the new and improved Bakflip G2 which is now all aluminum fram and panels, but it also comes in the Bakflip HD and BakflipF1.
For more info on these covers or to check out the price Click the Links below.

The Bakflip G2 has an aircraft grade aluminum frame which is powder coated. The aluminum panels are about a half inch thich with a core EPS insulation between the the outer surfaces. EPS insulation is an expanding polystyrene which is also great to strengthenen the cover. This cover is rated for a 300 pound top load when evenly distributed. It has been tested with more and done very well. I have described how it functions in other posts.

The Bakflip HD has all the same features as the G2 except that it is five eigths thick. Of course with the thicker core you get more strength. It has been rated fto withstand 400 pounds of evenly distributed weight on top of the cover. The thicker panels gave it the HD (Heavy Duty) label.

The Bakflip F1 has been made for people who may be harder on a tonneau cover and who live in harsher climates. Climates with heavy hail, snow and ice. The top is constructed with a tough Fiberglass reinforced polymer which will withstand more than your truck body. Unlike the rest of its family the F1 will stay cool to the touch and it has refined operating components as well.

Bakflip Tonneau Cover or Bakflip G2 Truck Cover

Some people are wondering if there is a difference between the Bakflip Tonneau Cover and the G2 Bakflip Tonneau Cover. The G2 is the product that is on the market at this time. It is just the original Bakflip truck bed cover which was improved.
There were a few problems with the original such as the hinge and stuff so the designers addressed the problem and came up with an even better product in the G2 version. The best way to get the most information on any cover is to go through some tonneau cover reviews. Check out this Bakflip g2 Tonneau Cover review showing the results of my research on the bakflip g2 pickup bed cover.
It just goes to show that the people at Bak are dedicated to their products and they are doing everything within reason to please their customers. They have grown to be a very large manufacturer in the tonneau cover industry. Good products and good customer relations are usually the reason behind such growth in a company and I peronally would like to tip my hat to Bak Industries.

Bakflip Tonneau Cover - Does It Lock?

Many people are asking the question do the Bak Bakflip Tonneau Covers lock and I am here to tell you that most do not actually lock with a key to open it. It does latch down and you have to open the tailgate to open it. Then you pull the latch release to open the cover at each fold. So your cover will stay down to the exact place you opened it to. You can watch the video a little farther down in the posting to see exactly what I am talking about.

If you ever owned one of those other covers that unlock on top with a key you know exactly what I am about to say. These locks get so bad from weather especially in the winter that you may not even be able to use your cover all winter. I know I've had that problem myself and I know others that had that problem as well. I had a hard fiberglass cover, I couldn't get the lock opened and you need the cover up to get the tailgate opened so I could not use my truck bed at all.

The Bakflip Tonneau Cover latches are underneath the cover. At least if something ever did go wrong, you could lower your tailgate to get at it. If you did need more security for your cargo area you can always add an aftermarket tailgate lock. One such lock is the Pop & Lock. A Keyed lock, easy to install.

Also available is a powergate lock by Pace Edwards that actually opens with your power door locks. I am sure you would find this very handy if you have power door locks. A toggle switch is available if you don't have power door locks. You can set this up inside the cab area if you like for added security.

Just so you know if you absolutely have to have a lock for your cargo area, it is very easy to obtain one. I have listed some links above that you will be able to find these locks at the lowest price you will find anywhere. I hope this does not leave any questions when you needed to know if the Bakflip tonneau cover locks.
